CE 201 C CE Teacher Training 1: Port. 3 Units
Prerequisite(s): Completion of or concurrent enrollment and a minimum grade of C in a minimum of 9 units within a discipline that falls within a career education pathway.

The fundamentals of teaching are explored and practiced in this first of a three-part series of courses to prepare Career Education (CE) teachers (e.g., Automotive Technology, Computer Information Systems, Dental Hygiene, Hotel, Restaurant and Culinary Arts, Media Arts Design, Nursing, etc.) for professional educator opportunities in community colleges, regional occupational, and adult education programs. Both current and aspiring teachers will benefit from this first course, which focuses on portfolio development. Topics also include: equity and inclusiveness; historical, contemporary and critical pedagogies; instructional technologies for varieties of CE subjects; components such as syllabus, lesson plans, learning outcomes and distance education. CE 202 C CE Teacher Training 2: Tech. 3 Units
Prerequisite(s): Completion of or concurrent enrollment and a minimum grade of C in a minimum of 9 units within a discipline that falls within a career education pathway.

This second course in the Career Education (CE) Teacher Training series prepares educators of technical subjects for community colleges and regional occupational programs. This course includes distance learning with equity-mindedness, student-centeredness alongside the varieties of unique CE subjects (e.g., Automotive Technology, Computer Information Systems, Dental Hygiene, Hotel, Restaurant and Culinary Arts, Media Arts Design, Nursing, etc.). Course work includes extensive training in Distance Education instructional technologies, consideration of one's professional presence on social media, accessibility and copyright laws, and a short history of Career Education. CE 295 C CE Teacher Training 3: Prac. 3 Units
Prerequisite(s): CE 202 C with a grade of C or better.
Term hours: 54 lecture. This course is the third of a three-part series of courses to prepare Career Education (CE) teachers (e.g., Automotive Technology, Computer Information Systems, Dental Hygiene, Hospitality Management, Media Arts Design, Nursing, etc.) for professional educator opportunities. This course includes a practicum in one's Career Education subject of expertise to professionalize, enhance and/or launch one's career. (CSU)
