The Cypress College LGBTQIA2S+ Liaison serves as a point of contact for the needs of the LGBTQIA2S+ faculty, staff and students. Their primary goal is to assist in creating a safer and more inclusive learning and working environment for queer individuals at Cypress College and supporting. The Cypress Pride Center is a resource center and inclusive lounge space for LGBTQIA2S+ students, employees, and allies to build relationships, study, get support, and access resources. The Center hosts a Lavender Welcome each semester, a Lavender Graduation at the end of each spring semester, weekly Queer-Straight Alliance student club meetings, and other workshops and events throughout the year. Students and staff work together through the Pride Center to increase queer visibility and representation, intersectional awareness, and inclusivity across the campus.
Queer-Straight Alliance Student Club
The Queer-Straight Alliance is the official LGBTQIA2S+ student club on campus. The primary focus of the club is community and connection with other queer folks. The club also participates in many campus events, attends queer conferences, and assists in educating the campus on queer identities and experiences.
