LGBTQ+ Liaison

The Cypress College LGBTQ+ Liaison serves as a point of contact for the needs of LGBTQ+ faculty, staff and students. Their primary goal is to assist in creating a safer and more inclusive learning and working environment for queer individuals at Cypress College. They also serve as a resource for individuals seeking to better support LGBTQ+ individuals in our campus community. Name Changes

Students can update their pronouns and chosen name in Canvas, on instructor rosters, and on their student ID card. Please visit the LGBTQ+ webpage for instructions. Contact the LGBTQ+ Liaison or Pride Center if you have any questions or concerns.

Pride Center

The Cypress Pride Center is a resource center and inclusive space for LGBTQ+ students and allies to relax, build relationships, study, get support, and access resources. The Center hosts a Lavender Welcome each fall semester, a Lavender Graduation at the end of each spring semester, weekly Queer-Straight Alliance student club meetings, and other workshops and events throughout the year. Students and staff work together through the Pride Center to increase queer visibility and representation, intersectional awareness, and inclusivity across the campus.

The Pride Center is open and staffed during the fall and spring semesters Monday-Thursday from 8:00 am – 6:00 pm and Fridays from 8:00 am – 2:00 pm.

Queer-Straight Alliance Student Club

The Queer-Straight Alliance (QSA) is the official LGBTQ+ student club on campus. The primary focus of the club is community and connection with other queer folks. The QSA holds weekly club meetings and also participates in many campus events, attends queer conferences, and assists in educating the campus on queer identities and experiences.
