Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics Program (STEM)

The (STEM)2 Program is intended to create opportunities for STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) students to become informed and prepared to apply for diverse hands-on opportunities within STEM career pathways. Our STEM Center offers a space for students to form study groups and engage with peer mentors, faculty and staff. Students involved in our program will learn to develop academic and leadership skills, increase educational performance, and leave Cypress College confident in their ability to compete academically and professionally in any STEM discipline they choose.

Advising Staff

STEM Counselors provide academic advisement. Students are also advised in financial aid, research and internship opportunities scholarships, and other enrichment opportunities. The outcome is that students are competitive applicants to four-year universities.

Facilitation of Research Opportunities

Through partnerships with four-year universities and federal and state-funded grants, students are given the opportunity to participate in research experiences at top universities with renowned researchers. This program has been instrumental in engaging students in STEM fields, and in increasing the number of students interested in obtaining graduate and doctoral degrees.
