AI Guidelines
Instructor Autonomy:
As disciplinary experts, instructors have the academic freedom to establish policies regarding the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in their courses as they deem appropriate. AI is defined as any computer systems or algorithms that provide or suggest work products that intend to replicate human thought and effort. Course policies may allow or restrict some or all uses of AI tools and should be clearly communicated to students. If students are unclear about the AI policies in a course, they are encouraged to seek clarification from their instructor.
Student Use and Academic Integrity:
Students are expected to use AI tools for coursework only as directed by their instructors. Any use of AI not explicitly permitted by the instructor may be considered a violation of the Fullerton College Academic Honesty and Standards of Student Conduct and Discipline Policy.
